Joint pain, inflammation and stiffness that is caused by normal wear-and tear is called osteoarthritis, and it’s the most common form of arthritis that exists. This degenerative condition typically impacts your knees, hips, lower back, fingers and neck, and while it cannot be cured, effective medical treatments exist to reduce the pace at which it progresses and help patients maintain their overall mobility.

At Temple Terrace Primary Care in Tampa, our physicians help patients regain or maintain their range of motion and be active, in spite of the onset of osteoarthritis. While there is as yet no known cure for osteoarthritis, Dr. Romeena Tejiram Martinez, applies her special skills as a Doctor of Osteopathy to create palliative care plans for patients, aimed at reducing its symptoms and making patients more comfortable. Plans can include medications such as NSAIDs and acetaminophen; physical and occupational therapy; cortisone injections; and surgical interventions. In addition, patients can frequently gain relief from such at-home remedies as hot and cold therapy.

If you or a loved one is suffering from the pain of osteoarthritis or another form of arthritis, please don’t hesitate to call on us at 813.971.3136 to evaluate and treat your condition. There is simply no reason to endure your pain and mobility issues without medical assistance.
